It’s time for another team member spotlight and this time we’re focusing on Nic Moore, our newest recruit and founder, Tony Moore’s, better half. Keep scrolling to find out why she made the move to Moore Health & Protection Ltd earlier this year as well as what she has planned for the business.
It’s a family affair
I’ve worked in PMI for 22 years across various roles including customer experience, project management, customer retention and administration. When Tony set the business up just over four years ago, me joining was something we always spoke about. We have over 45 years of experience between us, so it just made sense for us to come together professionally and evolve Moore Health & Protection Ltd into a family business.
Opposites attract
Tony and I have opposing but complimentary skillsets, so this way we can both play to our strengths. I love the fact that I now get to use everything I’ve learnt during my 22 years in the industry in a way that adds value to the business.
Tony Moore, Managing Director says, “having Nic working in the business has really helped to elevate our offering and the support we have available internally and to customers. The first question is always ‘well how is that going, working with your wife’ usually through gritted teeth and I can honestly say it’s one of the best business decisions we have made.”
Every day is a school day
I’ve only recently come on board, and I can honestly say that no two days have been the same. I’ve been supporting the representatives with planning admin, documenting and mapping processes, and familiarising myself with new software. I’ve got big plans for the business too – I want to establish our LinkedIn page and I’m going to sit down and strategise our marketing for 2025. One thing I’ve found challenging so far is wearing the two hats of ‘doing the work’ whilst also stepping back and objectively ‘reviewing the work’ but I know this will level up our business as we head into next year.
I shoot for the stars, literally
Outside of work, you’ll probably find me behind a camera! I find it a great way to be mindful and in the moment. I really enjoy astrophotography and have countless pictures of the Moon! I’ve also captured planets, star constellations, the Andromeda galaxy, Orion’s nebula and more recently, the Northern Lights. One of the reasons I’m so interested in this is because my 7x great uncle was the astronomer Sir William Herschel who discovered ‘George’s Star’, (later renamed to ‘Uranus’). His sister, my 7x great auntie, Caroline Herschel, was considered to be the first professional female astronomer.
When I’m not photographing things far away, I love photographing things up close – this time of year is perfect for taking fungi walks and capturing the many different varieties of fungi, including the infamous fly agaric mushroom (the red one with the white dots!)
Moulin Rouge is a masterpiece
I also like to unwind with a good film, and nothing beats Moulin Rouge. Baz Luhrmann was the director, and he has such a distinctive style of cinematography. The movie is a musical and I have both the CDs that were released. Tony also gave me a signed picture of Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor from the movie.
