If you’ve followed our blog this year, you’ll have noticed that we’ve been introducing you to the people that make Moore Health & Protection Ltd exactly what it is. But there’s one very important team member that hasn’t had their time yet and that’s Apollo, also known as our Head of Meow-arketing, and also known as the resident office cat. So, without further ado, get to know him better here. 

I’m a purrrr-fesional 

My day starts early with Mum (Nic Moore) as I patrol the office and get Moore Health & Protection Ltd ready for what beholds. Translation: prowling under desks and knocking over pen pots. After that, I leave Mum and hang out with Dad (Tony Moore), alternating between strategic napping sessions and supervising his productivity. Mid-morning, I usually make a bit of a nuisance of myself until they take me outside for a walk. I’m a house cat, so I go out on a harness. Then, in the afternoon, I like to lie on my blanket on the office window ledge with the occasional peek to make sure Mum and Dad continue to work hard. Sometimes, work calls, so I move from my slumber to type important emails by walking across keyboards.

It’s a family cat-mittee

Since Mum joined Moore Health & Protection Ltd, we spend much more time in the office, but it means I get more fuss from everyone, so I let them off. In fact, I love winning over Mum and Dad’s attention by bringing toys into the office – springs, spiders, balls, flippy fish, all seem to work well. That’s one of my favourite parts of working at the office. The worst bit is definitely the printer though. It makes these awful noises and makes me want to pounce!

Lunch time is always paws-itive

I like to get involved with whatever food is being prepared and share a bit of ham. My go-to office snack has to be Dreamies or freeze-dried chicken. But if I’m feeling adventurous, I like to sample unattended sandwiches.

A head boop a day keeps the stress away

I like to think of myself as an emotional support specialist and official stress reliever. I’m also a team player and make sure everyone takes regular breaks to fuss with me. This has the added bonus of potential snacks as well as play time. It might sound strange for a cat, but I love water play and trying to catch drops of water from the tap. I think humans should try this whenever they’re feeling stressed. It always works for me.

Pet peeves from my pur-spective

I get annoyed when Dad is on the phone, and it gets too loud. That’s when I take some time away and head into the living room. It also bugs me when someone doesn’t let me sit on their keyboard. I just don’t get it. I also think the office needs more space. I often knock things off the shelf which means Dad is always putting things back, especially his TRM Partnership 2024 award.

I’m not just a pet, I’m the boss

I’m only 9 months old so I have lots of learning to do but I can see myself taking on more responsibility in the future and, in fact, running the show. Perhaps with a corner office and a cat-sized beanbag. My advice for a new office pet just starting out would be to make them think they’re in charge and if ever they get suspicious, be cute and cuddly and they’ll quickly forget. Demand belly rubs on your terms and don’t take no for an answer.
