In fact, for the past 20 years, I’ve been helping people all over the UK to find the best insurance for themselves, their families, and their employees. But insurance isn’t all I do. In fact, I make it my mission to get out into the community to not only give back to some incredible causes and organisations but also to meet a range of individuals.

Career talks in local schools

There’s no denying that I’m passionate about spreading the word about the importance of personal insurance to people of all ages. Plus, as a dad myself, I want to spark these conversations among our younger generation and get them thinking about the future. 

Based in Cheshire, I’ve been visiting local secondary schools to discuss everything there is to know about personal medical insurance and I’ve been talking about potential career opportunities for these kids and how they might go about getting into the industry. 

It’s a really rewarding experience and even if just one individual goes away and remembers what I said in years to come, I’ll feel like I’ve done my bit to help. 

Friends of the Park

I spend most of my working week behind a screen or on the phone so I was happy to see an initiative in my local area that would allow me to get out and about in the fresh air and do something good. 

Every month, a small group of us come together to maintain and enhance our local parks. Whether it’s park maintenance, fundraising, or even a bit of event organisation, it’s so nice to be able to do something for the area that I call home. 

Governor at Stockport NHS Trust

Finally, I’ve also taken on the role as a governor for Stockport NHS, which means I’m able to give the local community a voice, ensuring that local individuals have a say in how NHS hospitals in the area are run and managed. 

It’s been an interesting opportunity, meeting with other members of the trust as well as the public, passing on feedback and acting as an ambassador. Again, I’ve met some great people and it’s inspiring to know that we have the chance to really make a difference in our community.
